Students preparing a caste study

Classes are over, team meetings are done and notes have been taken. You see a student tapping another on the shoulder and asking: “Hey man, what are you doing tonight?” The other turns around, stares at his friend and by now the expression on his face gives away the purely rhetorical nature of the question asked. Why? Because both know what they were going to do that night – preparing for next day’s case studies.

Case studies are an essential part of the IE learning experience, as they are one of the most effective ways to develop and assess a student’s problem-solving skills. The case method helps professors not only strengthen their students’ abilities to creatively approach complex problems in unfamiliar settings, but also to structure their thinking and reach sensible conclusions in a short period of time based on the facts available – like in the real world, only with a little guidance.

Of course it’s important that you experience this for yourself before you embark on a Master program to see if it’s right for you. Luckily, we shall be hosting an event on our Madrid campus on Saturday, May 19th. Click here to register!
