What have I done before?
Before joining IE, I study Spanish Language and Literature as my major in Peking University, China. During my third year of bachelor, I came to Universidad Autónoma de Madrid for exchange and I fell in love with this city. After going back to China, I started to study the possibilities of studying or working in Madrid. Meanwhile, I spent four months on internship of Uber China and worked in the marketing department, which strengthened my interest on this function. After finishing my internship, I decided to apply for IE to prepare myself working more professionally in this role.
Why the Master in Management?
There are double reasons why I like this program.
First, it is intensive. I enjoy pushing myself under pressure to find out my potential. It fits the pace of real working environment and helps me improve time management.
Second, it is divided into two parts of business foundation knowledge and specialization, which avoids both lack of business background and excessive generality;
- For me, situating in the city center of Madrid is the most attractive feature of IE.
- IE underlines alumni network and entrepreneurship, two of the most important resources of business schools nowadays.
- IE attracts illustrating candidates from all parts of the world and professors with both industrial and scholar experience. Diversity and professionalism are essential for me as well.
What was the application and admission process like?
You are well informed for the beginning to end.
In China, I joined informational interviews in Beijing and contacted with IE office in Shanghai for advice. After that, I started my application online and every step was clear. The best experience was the one-on-one interview. I was luckily to have a face to face interview in Beijing as the interviewer flew there to evaluate future candidates. After the interview, I received the decision from IE within a month.
Everything was well-ordered and efficient.
What’s my impression after a few weeks?
I have been receiving challenges constantly from school tasks and IE club affairs. I spent every moment improving myself, knowing new people and archiving new goals. Everyone around me is busy and diligent, but also enjoys hanging out and travelling. Participation means a habit here. I can always find team mates for whatever the task is. Wasting time is the worst thing that you want to happen here.
