IE Business School professor David Bach recently spoke at the Joint Alumni Conference (JAC) in Zurich on “Taking management beyond the market”.
The JAC hosts the world’s leading business schools to explore the strategies and skills that will define and shape the future of world business. JAC fuses the practical real-world experience of the alumni with the forward-looking ideas and insights of the faculty to explore the key issues affecting global business in the years and decades to come. The JAC conference is the most significant global event facilitating the cross-fertilization of business thinking.
During his talk, Professor Bach explained how business is increasingly affected by what he terms “non-market actors” such as governments and supranational institutions like the European Union. The most successful companies therefore, are increasingly the ones who are able to make these non-market challenges the basis for competitive advantage.
