As part of the Executive Insight Series of guest speakers, the IE Master in Management students had the chance to welcome Sunil Kumar. The aim of this series is to give the students an insiders perspective of different sectors and industries. It is one of the many opportunities that MIM students have to gain real life exposure to today’s most important business trends as part of their career development.

Sunil Kumar, Associate Vice President at Tata Elxsi, addressed a group of over 60 Master in Management students last week. Sunil spoke about trends in the Media Entertainment and High Tech industries and provided several thought-provoking suggestions for students interested in the sector.

New trends include the fusion between heavy engineering and consumer electronics, particularly in the medical devices field, as well as the creation of new recurring revenue creations models. Some challenges, particularly in international sales that Sunil has seen include diversified buyers and a reduced hit ratio, which requires a larger pipeline.

It was a treat for MIM students to also hear about working in different continents firsthand from Sunil, who is currently based in Paris, but has also worked in LA, Silicon Valley, as well as his native India.

Thank you Sunil! We look forward to welcome you back at IE!

  2. Lots of people learn new things through practice. There are plenty of entrepreneurs who turned out to be top managers without getting their MBA degree. Practice is another very important Pinoy Tambayan that gives us very specific knowledge in entrepreneurship.
