The new MIM intake has begun and with it – we´ve a brilliant cohort of enthusiastic students arriving to Madrid. We, at the Admissions, could not fail to notice that more and more engineers over time are choosing the MIM. So we spoke to Raphael Rudawski and checked on his story so far.
What did you do before?
Before studying I did a Vocational Training as a Draftsman. Due to this technical background I decided to go an academic path at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology, where I started my Bachelor studies as an Industrial Engineer with focus on Mechanical Engineering. During my engineering studies I did a 6-month internship in the strategic purchasing department at Daimler and another 6-month internship in the Project Management department of the Munich Consulting Group GmbH.
Why the Master in Management?
I am of the opinion that the Master in Management is the perfect complement to my technical background. At IE I have the possibility to gain really practical management skills by very hands-on experiences, working on real-life projects and case studies. Therefore, I think I get prepared in the best way possible for my future goal in the consulting industry.
IE is one of the best academic institution for a Master in Management worldwide. Beyond that, I got really attracted by the ethical vision in business from IE and the entrepreneurial spirit. Another reason for my choice to study at IE was the diversity. In my intake are over 60 nationalities, which enables me to act and negotiate in multinational and multicultural environments, which is extraordinary important for my future career.
What was the application and admission process like?
The admission and application process is really straight forward. First of all, applicants have to write a letter of motivation. Beyond that, they have to do presentations, videos or essays about specific topics. The GMAT is required like at all other business schools and there is also the possibility to do the IeGAT. If the candidate is a good fit the Admission Office gets in touch with you and schedule an appointment for a Skype interview.
What’s my impression after a few weeks?
I am very glad to be at IE and have the chance to strive for the best in myself, personally and academically. I am totally convinced that the master program in Management of the IE Business School corresponds exactly to my needs and ideas. Especially the international mindset and the entrepreneurial spirit characterize what I was searching for.
@Raphael – Thank you for sharing your story with us and we wish you all the luck ahead!
